tApCalc Finance for Palm OS

What is tApCalc Finance?

tApCalc Finance is a calculator software that features a virtual paper tape. Calculations done by you can be recorded in this virtual paper tape for future use. tApCalc Finance features include:

Grouping - Thousand grouping of numbers according to regional number format
Formats Supported – Supports all Regional number formats supported by the device
Scientific operators – Standard Scientific operators such as Sqrt, 1/x, +-

tApCalc Finance tape

Calculations recorded in tApCalcFinance paper tapes can be Saved as programs or Output files in the memo application.
Saved tapes can be Loaded, and extended with additional calculations, particularly helpful to traveler that want to keep a running tab on expenses.
Tapes can be Edited to add labels to calculations, correct mistakes in numbers and operators, and the calculation redone using Run function. Helpful when there are mistakes in entering data for long calculations. You don’t have to go back and enter all data again.
Tapes stored as output can be Viewed, Emailed, Beamed, Printed to another device

Before you Install

Printing from tApCalc Finance requires PalmPrint program that enables direct printing from Palm devices. If you do not have this program, all functions of tApCalcCPA will work except directly printing output tape files from your Palm device. Steps to Install tApCalc Finance

Step 1 - Unzip the Downloaded file

Unzip the downloaded file using Winzip. You should see the following files where you unzipped:

tApCalcFinanceInstaller.exe
tApCalcFinance-Palm-Readme.htm

Step 2 - Run Installer

Run the tapcalcFinanceInstaller.exe. It will copythe necessary files for Palm desktop to install tApCalc Finance. Please note that tApCalc Finance is a Visual Basic application and it requires AppForge Mobile VB booster to run which is included in the tApCalcFinanceInstaller.exe. This booster is automatically installed on your device along with tApCalc Finance. To learn more about the AppForge Mobile VB, you can refer to http://www.appforge.com

Get connected by putting your palm device on the cradle and press hotsync. tApCalc finance will be installed on your device. You will see the tApCalc Finance ICON on your Palm. Click on it to run the program.

Step 3 – Install using Palm desktop Install tool

Note: Follow this step if you experience problem in installation using step 2 otherwise, skip this step, as the installation is already complete in Step 2

From Windows start menu, programs, Palm Desktop group, select “Install tool” (you can also load Palm Desktop and select “Install” option from the Palm Desktop “View” menu)
Using “Add” button in the install screen, add tapcalcFinance-install.prc file. You should then see the file listed in the Install screen.
Click done button in the install screen. Now the tapcalc finance program is ready to be synced to your palm device.
Put the palm device on hotsync cradle and click on the hotsync icon on palm device (If the palm device is on the cradle, hotsync may automatically start).
Now the program will be automatically synced to your palm device and you will see tApCalc Finance installation activity on your device. Then the tApCalc Finance ICON will appear on your palm device.
