The bride and groom exchange vows
The happy couple now Mr and Mrs Balaram outside the hall after the wedding ceremony. At this point we thought the wedding was over but we were soon called back in for another ceremony that ended up being very much like a wedding reception.
The couple now married were seated under the canopy while some singing and other speeches went on.
Soon the cutting of the cake occured (Very important as I was starting to get hungry ;) Note the cake appears small in the picture. It was actually several layers tall unfortunately they were unable to get it to remain as a free standing layer cake and thus opted for the single layer cake for the cutting. I believe that my brother Chris may have some pictures of the cake standing with the aid of some of the wedding party.
After the reception there was an Indian buffet for all the guests. Being somewhat hungry at this point I had a good helping of food. After this the immediate family as well as some of Anil's guests including us had a sit down meal with Ruth's family. Once again we were provided with copious amounts of food. I was starting to get pretty full at this point. Ruth's uncle was very insistent that we get enough to eat ;) After the meal was over Ruth's family officially gave her over to be a member of Anil's family in an emotional ceremony.
After supper the bride and groom had a number of family pictures taken. This picture is of Anil and Ruth with Anil's family.
This picture is of Anil and Ruth with Ruth's parents.
This picture is all of Ruth's family including her brother Vincent (the hardest working man in Hyderabad), his wife and their really cute daughter. | ||
